August 22, 2009 — A Look At My Flowers

Well, it is still summer in Oklahoma. We have gotten a lot of rain in the past 20 days so that means the task of mowing. Everyone always looks at me like I am crazy when I tell them that I mow the entire 3 acres.

Most of the places along our country road (we are about 3/4 mile from the public road — and that is no highway but a country blacktop road) mow just around the house but I don’t like all the weeds. Guess 2 years of living in the country hasn’t really made me a “country girl”.

This is my “yard” from the east corner straight up the fence line to the west corner where the vegetable garden.

These are just a few of the flowers we grow.

This last picture I have enclosed to show that this section of Oklahoma really does have RED dirt. This field is about 2 miles from my house.

So when I am a little slow getting a post out, you will know that I am not being lazy — just struggling to keep the weeds at bay so we can enjoy the beauty.
