Information Overload — Is That You?
Are you suffering from “information overload”? That term is pretty much overworked today but it is still talking about a concept that is all too prevalent.
People abound that are trying to tell you what you “need” to do in order to begin an online business. The “gurus” are out in force trying to sell you their successful methods. Much of the information you receive is good advice. Only a small part of it, hopefully, is pure hype. But it then becomes up to you to arrange all this knowledge in your brain.
You have all these puzzle pieces laid out in front of you. You understand some of what each is saying but you have absolutely no idea how to piece together the puzzle that will lead you to the “total picture”. Essentially, because all of it is so overwhelming, you end up doing very little and finishing even less.
Regardless of where you are at in your online business, I encourage you to pick out a mentor and follow their methods. Everyone has a different approach to this business. Many of these are excellent but you don’t have the expertise to pick out pieces of each and bind them together into your own unique approach. Maybe someday but not now.
Naturally, I would like to have you join the Step-By-Step family of beginners. I truly believe that we have an organized method to developing a successful internet business. I urge you to visit our website – http://www.stepbystepinternethelp.com to see what we have available. Be sure to become a regular visitor as more is being added weekly.

You identified my thoughts on this perfectly. Trying to stay organized with all of this information is a real challenge. It’s really easy to become “Information Pack-rats” (if you like this as a term, I want to copyright it).

It you follow the Step By Step plan, I truly believe you will continue to win the overload battle.
When you are ready to apply something to your particular situation, draw on your previous knowledge or seek it out right then. There is nothing like practical application to cement a process in place.
Carol
PS like your copyright term.
Carol, Chris, I agree with you both. In the world of Internet Marketing we are all bombarded with so much information and there seems so much to learn. I think though we need to learn to be strong and regain control of our lives and realise that WE can dictate our own timetables rather than letting salesman push us into the latest and greatest offer which is about to treble in price real soon! I wonder how many of us, like me, have brought stuff we couldn’t really afford and which we have never even read just because of a slick sales page. Now that we have enrolled on this course I feel the important thing is to try to keep focused on the lessons rather than become distracted by all the latest techniques we are bombarded with by email.
One of the things I particularly like about this Step-By-Step Course we are studying is the fact we can all progress at our own pace. If we reach some material on a new subject we haven’t heard of before then we are free to take a few extra days to get to grips with it. There is not a rigid timetable we must stick to. I am sure if we ask Carol nicely we can always pause for a few days and can all discuss any particularly interesting course material via this Blog and so get the chance to hear all our many different views on the topic. We all came to this course with skills in different areas and there is probably a lot we can learn from each other as well as from our Tutors. I think the secret is never to be afraid to ask questions however dumb they may seem. We are, after all, all learning together.
I think, as Carol says, the secret is to study and then to try things out ourselves. We are not in a race, and this is not some high pressure ‘get rich quick’ crash course which promises to make us millionaires in 30 days. Instead the emphasis is on learning the basics of Internet Marketing at our own pace in a guided step-by-step structured way. Together we are all laying the foundation for our own long term successful Internet Marketing careers. What we are learning are things we should be able to put into practice and build on many times throughout the years ahead. THAT is what is really important.
