Calling All Step-By-Step Students - Friday

Maybe I am back in the groove now. I just finished uploading three articles to the Article Marketing section on the web site. I am in the process of writing an eBook for this section with some practical how-to guides.

I am about 1/2 way through the creation of an e-course on using Resell Products to Create Your Niche.

I am in the process of creating my first Squidoo lenses.

My biggest frustration right now is I am having to do what I tell my students not to do. I am working on several projects at one time. Oh well, just the trials and tribulations of giving birth to a project of this scope.

Feeling better so plan a weekend packed with work. Hope you are moving along toward your goals. Remember, it is one step at a time. Before long you will be running.

    Hi Carol,
Enjoyed your article regarding “Information Overload”. What was written was definitely true. All those puzzle pieces. We seem to keep collecting more and more as the promises from the “gurus” increase weekly. I’ve decided to limit the amount of this new information coming my way, but it’s hard because we’re always hoping that the next “piece” will be the key that opens the door to everything else that has been collected.

I’m just about ready to wade into Aweber. I need to get an opt-in box set up(would it be a widget they provide?) for my blog site. Would you have some time in your busy schedule to help me with the first steps in this direction? Is there a checklist available for this?

It was good to hear that you’re feeling better, and I know exactly what you mean when you talk about multiple projects being done at once. I struggle trying to keep mine on course. Some things just can’t be helped when you’re starting out.

Also, I saw on this page a place for “Some Special Footer Text”. Could you explain to me what that would be used for? It’s the first time I’ve seen this and it may be worth adding to my WordPress blog if it is valuable enough.

Thanks for your help. You can send me a PM if needed for a reply (teske2006@sbcglobal.net).

    Hi Chris,

I hope everyone is fitting the pieces together. It is a slow process but if you do something every day it will soon get there.

When you are ready to fill in the spot for your Aweber account you will get a piece of code (from the Aweber software) that you will then paste in a widget. You can then put that widget in any spot on the sidebar. As is evidenced by mine, I prefer the upper right corner.

The spot in the footer was there in the theme. I haven’t figured out what inspirational tidbit to put there (obviously). My general opinion is that people are accustomed to seeing things like credits there and pay very little attention.

I will get more Aweber info to you.

    Carol,

I think you are extremely kind hearted in making a pair of spectacles for your pet octopus! (chuckle) Will you be adding an article to the Step-By-Step website sharing your experience so we can all discover the best way to use one of these Lenses to drive traffic to our own blogs/websites?

    Best wishes,
    Ian

    Hi Ian -

Never fear, what I learn will always be passed on to my students. Part of the excitement for me in tackling another challenge is that I will then be able to make it easier for my students.
