Let’s Start The Step-By-Step Book Plan
I have talked the last two days about organizing our focus on information eBooks. So let’s take a look at a report by Lee McIntyre, 500 Dollars. This is a rebranded book that can be sold but I am choosing to give it to my students to start this program.
Read the book and send me an email. Rank it from 0 to 5 with 5 being the highest. Give me two things that you think could be applied in your business or someone else’s.

Can You Find Them On Your Hard Drive?
Information products, read and use. Be sure you are putting them to use and that you can find them when you need them.
I have a master file called “Books” (I know, very original). That file includes one folder for each book. The book folder has a zipped copy, an unzipped copy and my notes on the book.
I keep all my books in a folder called “Books To Be Read”. I try to read one a day and make my notes. The book and the notes then gets moved to the folder I mentioned above.
All of this may seem a tad bit obsessive but keeping things organized is of utmost importance.
Join me in an effort to focus, be organized and make efficient use of the learning tools available.
Take Action While You Learn
Several marketers have written about this recently so I want us to try it in a Step-By-Step manner.
I know that all of you have bought all kinds of information products. That is not at all unusual. Most of us know that, as beginners, we need to learn so much and we are constantly on a quest for that information. Even if you have managed to curb the impulse to buy from the “Get Rich Fast” hype-filled marketers, the chances are you still have a lot of information products on your hard drive.
I am starting a systematic approach to organizing FREE ebooks. I am tabulating basic information: Title, Subject Matter, Rights Attached, Author, and year of publication. As I list these books, I am encouraging you to Take Action. Read the book and rank it from 0 to 5 stars based on two criteria: clear and concise instructions and inclusion of real, practical advice.
Send me an email with your ranking and two items in the book that could be applied to your business plan or to another beginner if you are already past that point. List the page number of the tip and a brief explanation. Don’t give it all away. I want others to read the book but find the point that you list.
I will compile these results into a database that will be available to all Step-By-Step students.
Tune in tomorrow and I will talk to you about how I keep track of these books.
I Finally Got It Done!!
I have been so tied up getting my product listed on Willie Crawford’s giveaway. This particular event has a slightly different twist — every gift listed has to have rebrandable links in it. That means if you sign up to receive a gift, it will be rebrandable so that there is potential money to be made from your distribution.
The URL of the giveaway is:
http://www.viralrebrandablemoneymachines.com/members.php?id=376
If you go to this site and register, you will be able to browse the pages to download anything you might find of value. Remember our rule is the same here as for purchases. Take nothing except what you think you can use in the very near future.
Products collecting dust on your hard drive are of no value. This is one of the hardest things to avoid. I create a folder for the giveaway and put everything in there that I download from the event. I don’t take it out of that folder until I have read it, installed it and ready to put it in it’s permanent home.
For most of the gifts you will have to sign up for the marketer’s subscriber list. Don’t unsubscribe immediately. Some have valuable content and are worth your time to read. Some are full of hype or all they do is sell, sell, sell. There is always that unsubscribe button at the bottom.
Go visit and have a good explore.

Information Overload — Is That You?
Are you suffering from “information overload”? That term is pretty much overworked today but it is still talking about a concept that is all too prevalent.
People abound that are trying to tell you what you “need” to do in order to begin an online business. The “gurus” are out in force trying to sell you their successful methods. Much of the information you receive is good advice. Only a small part of it, hopefully, is pure hype. But it then becomes up to you to arrange all this knowledge in your brain.
You have all these puzzle pieces laid out in front of you. You understand some of what each is saying but you have absolutely no idea how to piece together the puzzle that will lead you to the “total picture”. Essentially, because all of it is so overwhelming, you end up doing very little and finishing even less.
Regardless of where you are at in your online business, I encourage you to pick out a mentor and follow their methods. Everyone has a different approach to this business. Many of these are excellent but you don’t have the expertise to pick out pieces of each and bind them together into your own unique approach. Maybe someday but not now.
Naturally, I would like to have you join the Step-By-Step family of beginners. I truly believe that we have an organized method to developing a successful internet business. I urge you to visit our website - http://www.stepbystepinternethelp.com to see what we have available. Be sure to become a regular visitor as more is being added weekly.
Calling All Step-By-Step Students - Friday
Maybe I am back in the groove now. I just finished uploading three articles to the Article Marketing section on the web site. I am in the process of writing an eBook for this section with some practical how-to guides.
I am about 1/2 way through the creation of an e-course on using Resell Products to Create Your Niche.
I am in the process of creating my first Squidoo lenses.
My biggest frustration right now is I am having to do what I tell my students not to do. I am working on several projects at one time. Oh well, just the trials and tribulations of giving birth to a project of this scope.
Feeling better so plan a weekend packed with work. Hope you are moving along toward your goals. Remember, it is one step at a time. Before long you will be running.

Are You An Eeyore?
This was copied from an email of Kevin Riley’s. After seeing a piece somewhat similar to this on TV last night, I went hunting on my hard drive for this terrific piece.
The one character trait that I believe is most destructive to your business success is the Eeyore Attitude. You know it: There’s always something to blame. “Nothing goes right. Why even try.”
Unfortunately, I see many struggling entrepreneurs displaying this crippling trait. There’s always something outside to blame. “The kids make too much noise.” “I haven’t got enough time.” “Making videos is too difficult.” “I’m not a writer.”
CAN DO SPIRIT
Tigger - although a wee bit too rambunctious - has the Can Do spirit. “Tiggers can do anything.” If you find yourself attacked by Eeyoreness, grab a little Tigger. Realize that the limitations are not out there - they are inside you. With a little more Tigger Attitude, you’ll overcome any problem. You’ll find that the mountain truly is just a molehill.WE ALL SUFFER IT Don’t think that some of us are immune from Eeyoreness. I often get the Eeyore feeling _ especially when it involves technical difficulties. I go for tea. I check e-mail. I go shopping. Anything to avoid facing the “insurmountable” problem.
Then, when I finally kick Eeyore out and start attacking the problem… I’m always surprised how small that hill was. So… push Eeyore aside and start overcoming your limitations.
Calling All Step-By-Step Students, Wednesday
All I can say I have been doing is spinning my wheels. Concentration not good so I have been mainly doing housekeeping duties on my computer.
You can expect to see me back on here with regularity now. I think I am beginning to get my feet back under me.
Sorry I’ve Been Missing!
There has been a lapse in my posts. I have a reason but not really an excuse. I was biten by a rattlesnake last week and have been feeling lousy. I am slowly recovering but it is frustrating not to be able to work as much as I want to or have been used to do doing.
Expect to be back in the groove soon.

A Major Time Saver: Hot Keys
Hotkeys are a combination of keys that trigger a certain event like pasting some text (think your signature in certain forums, or places where they don’t have a WYSIWYG editor so you have to type in all the tedious html, you could use it to paste header codes for your programs, repetitive emails, email templates and so on…)
You can also use it to open applications. For example, I use my mind map application a lot so I have a special key combination that automatically opens the thing for me. It’s easy, cool and saves a ton of time.
If you’ve never used hotkeys . . . try it out…it will save you a ton of time
The hotkey application highly recommend is autohotkey – if you’ve got the technical background or the time and energy to play around with it.
Here’s a much simpler program you can set up and get running in minutes. It’s HotKeyMaster (free for 30 days and a one time $5 fee after that - worth the time + muscle strain it saves you if you ask me).
On the page entitled Hot Keys to your left, you will find the URL for download as well as some instructions to get you started.
