Organization — Not Creative Work But Worth The Trouble
Organization is essential in everything you do in life. Well, maybe I should say desirable. As you begin to acquire information about the internet and internet marketing, you will find it especially advantageous to keep that information in some sort of order so you can quickly find the information you need to use.
I am going to offer you some suggestions for organizing information on your hard drive. None of these ideas are written in stone. You can use them as they are, adapt them to your personal needs, or ignore them altogether – obviously the choice is up to you.
Let me know if you find an unusual way to keep track of your files. I will post it here to share with others.
Copy and Paste
One of the most frequently used shortcuts is “copy and paste”. There are several ways that you can accomplish this.—some more time consuming than others.
The first thing you have to do no matter which method you use is to highlight the material you want to copy. You can begin at the start of the material to be copied, click and hold down and drag to the end of the material. If you have difficulty manipulating the mouse during this process, there is another alternative. Move your cursor to the beginning of the material. Hold down the Shift key. Use the arrow keys to move to the end of the material.
Now that the material is highlighted:
Method 1: Click on Edit, Click on Copy
Method 2: Click on Copy icon on the Toolbar (looks like 2 sheets of paper – to the left of the scissors)
Method 3: Hold down Ctrl while you Click C
All of the above methods result in the material being copied onto the Clipboard.
You are able to paste that material into your current document or in another document. You can close the current document and the information will remain on the clipboard.
Navigate to the spot in which you want to paste the material.
Method 1: Click on Edit, Click on Paste
Method 2: Click on the Paste icon on the Toolbar (to the immediate right of copy)
Method 3: Hold down Ctrl while you Click V
You really need to learn to use Method 3. As you are typing, the ability to complete an action without removing your fingers from the keyboard is a very time-saving option. You may have to practice it several times to be proficient. It is always quicker to use the keyboard and not move your hands to the mouse.
This shortcut is presented so that you will always be seeking ways to improve your proficiency. Any time you save can be applied to other meaningful tasks.
Life in the Country!
I missed two days but for once it is not my fault. You see, I am a captive slave of my satellite. It gets to control my internet being.
When you live in a remote area, you have limited options for acquiring high speed internet access. Basically, your only choice is which satellite company you are going to pick. Or you could always go dial-up.
I am telling you this because when it storms you have no satellite connection. Since I live in Oklahoma, this can occur frequently. The common saying all around here is: If you don’t like the weather, stick around it will change.
We have been going through a long cycle of storms, causing my satellite to rebel.
I love living in the country even though I am often without my internet connection.
